Gilles Martinez, a born sculptor, working and forming stone since his childhood, lives his job as a true passion... Nested in the very heart of the Provence, Gil Martinez is working on his beloved material in a village the name of which reminds of its passion: Pierrevert. ( green stone ) Born, in the Provence, in Manosque, Gil is a proud defender of the stone of the region: " the estaillade ". Between the stone and himself strong bonds exist, a transmission at the same time of age and spirituality. Gil Martinez is at the same time a man of patience and passion. Of patience, to accomplish detailed restorations, working and concentrating on the very detail. Of passion, to give life to the most extravagant plans and projects... Far from the picture of the solitary sculptor, Gil opens the doors of his workshop by appointment. Welcome to Giles Martinez, a stonemason by passion, his home, a true hymn in stone, opens you its doors. For the lovers of stone and art, a detour to the workshop of Giles Martinez is a must for everybody!

Creativity without border Fountains, pillars of portals, piles of kitchens in ancient, arches, basins, walls and pediments of swimming pool, masks, columns, taken up by wall in stones, gargoyles, etc. The know-how and the creativity of Giles Martinez allow him to bring always the key which personifies every order and inserts it perfectly into your environment, here an alcove in the course of the wall, a pigeon house in decoration of angle, a more accentuated roundness... His virtuosity is unlimited, concerning neither his own imagination nor that of his customers. To please him, it is enough to entrust him an "a priori" impossible job, and his creativity will express itself only the better. His last order exceeding normal standards? To make an austere wall of 12 square meters a "living" piece of art. Two monumental steps, a pigeon house, a shower and later a basin in the form of a shell, the wall revealed a new personality, integrating itself marvellous in the garden of his owner. Orders are following, bumping into each other but being alike Approachable desires Whoever drops in, - the monuments of France, the ministry or individuals, everyone arrives with a plan, more or less defined. Gil Martinez feels responsible for giving it birth in his unique handwriting. This magnanimous sculptor does not forget that he comes from a modest background. There is no "small order", every order is unique and the only goal of the job is to embellish and to harmonize the space. What counts first of all is the idea of a transmission, to bring his stone " inside the building ", making it a part of it, thus creating a work which will last for generations
